Standards lavender and white broken color; Style arms light cream with lavender edges and mid-rib; Falls lavender blue with darker center line; Yellow blotch
signal. Registered height 32 - 42 inches, Mid to late to very late. ARDOYNE X LITTLE GENERAL
I'm particularly fond of this iris, the odd little thing. It came in one of the earliest batches of seedlings we fostered up here after the 2005 hurricanes. Every time it popped up, I was stunned by the distinctive bloom. It tended to bloom a little late up here, but bloomed over an extended time, opening one flower after another. After it had been in its own space for a couple of years, it bloomed from late June (near the end of our bloom season) all the way to early August. Not only that, it put up 2 branches (something we rarely see in zone 5), sporting a full 16 blooms over the extended season (including a triple socket in the top position, and many double sockets). If this doesn't mean anything to you, don't worry, It's iris judge talk. At any rate, it blooms a long time, has many flowers, and grows well in all zones.
